As a young girl from a Mahayana Buddhist family in Vietnam, Lienchi was inspired by the teachings of Thay Thich Nhat Hanh to start practicing meditation in 1984. Her journey took a transformative turn in 1992 when she met Bhante Khippapanno at a retreat. Moved by his wisdom and kindness, she ordained with him for a year to immerse herself in Theravada Buddhism.
In 1998, Bhante encouraged her to travel to Burma for further training, where she ordained under Sayadaw U Pandita. Over the years, she has been fortunate to deepen her practice with renowned teachers, including Luang Por Sumedho and Sayadaw U Tejaniya, who became her primary teacher in 2003. To this day, she continues to travel to Burma and Thailand annually for monastic training and inspiration.
With Sayadaw U Tejaniya’s guidance, Lienchi transitioned gracefully from monastic life to lay life, integrating mindfulness into her daily routines. She enjoyed a successful career as an architect until 2015, when she shifted her focus to full-time meditation practice, dedicating over two years to intensive training in Burma.
In 2017, Lienchi was invited by Trudy Goodman, with the support of her teachers Sayadaw U Tejaniya and Bhante Khippapanno, to teach at InsightLA. She also completed the Four-Year Teacher Training program with Gil Fronsdal and Andrea Fella in 2025, further solidifying her ability to guide others.
Today, Lienchi shares Dharma with warmth and humility, leading meditation retreats and classes across America. She inspires others to cultivate mindfulness, wisdom, and a deeper connection to daily life, guiding them with kindness and authenticity.
